We always welcome new patients
Welcome to Mellion Orthodontics - Fairlawn & Medina - where we strive to provide you with the most efficient, effective, personalized treatment. And that all begins at your initial, complimentary consultation!
No referral required!

You can expect to spend one hour with us during that first visit. During this time you'll get to know our team and our doctors. We will review dental and medical history to identify any contraindications for treatment and ensure we address all of your concerns.

We will take complimentary dental imaging including photos, a 3D cone beam (x-ray), and a digital scan. Either Dr. Zach or Dr. Alex Mellion will meet with you to discuss your treatment goals and outline your personalized treatment plan.

Once all your treatment questions are answered we will review your insurance benefits, financial obligations and scheduling options. During this visit you will acquire all the information you need to make the decision that is best for you or your family member.
Referral? Great!
Required? Never.
Regardless of how you found us - through one of the amazing dentists in the area or through Google - you are welcome in our practice. While most specialty practices require a referral or pre-authorization, Mellion Orthodontics in Fairlawn and Medina, Ohio does not. We are however, happy to connect you with any other specialist you may need throughout the course of treatment or refer you to one of the many knowledgable general practitioners we work with.
What your first visit reveals about your smile
1
Treatment is recommended now
A number of factors determine treatment readiness. When our specialists determine NOW is the time, it really is the best time to start. Dr. Zach and Dr. Alex's years of experience and expertise combined with their educational foundation and family history make them the best to qualified in making this call.
Treatment can wait
Children may not be ready for treatment due to physical development of their teeth and/or jaw structure or due to the maturity and responsibility necessary to take great care of their mouth during orthodontic treatment. Other factors for patients of all age include overall oral hygiene and general well being. These factors and more are taken into consideration when Dr. Zach and Dr. Alex say a patient is not ready for treatment.
When a patient is not ready for treatment, a plan is created that outlines what needs to happen so a patient may pursue future treatment.

Treatment is not recommended
In certain situations treatment may not be recommended based on the health of gums, teeth, or overall well-being. If appropriate, Dr. Zach and Dr. Alex will make recommendations of how to improve your oral or overall health so that orthodontic treatment may benefit you in the future.
Or, treatment may not be recommended because you already have a great smile aesthetically and functionally!
Yay you!
