Dr. Alex Mellion attended dental school at Case Western Reserve University School of Dental Medicine for his Doctor of Dental Medicine (DMD) degree, graduating in 2011. He then completed his orthodontic training and residency at Saint Louis University, graduating in 2013, after which he joined Drs. Zach and Joe at Mellion Orthodontics in Fairlawn and Medina. He completes at least 50 hours of continuing education annually to stay at the forefront of the orthodontic field, and has completed advanced training in Invisalign® clear aligners and remote monitoring.
Dr. Alex is a member of several professional organizations, including the American Dental Association®, Ohio Dental Association, Akron Dental Society, American College of Dentists and the Pierre Fauchard Academy. He is actively involved in many areas of the dental community. He has served as the President of the Akron Dental Society and recently finished his term representing Ohio and Indiana on the American Dental Association New Dentist Committee.

- Ohio Dental Association Rising Star Award (2019)
As an orthodontist, Dr. Alex is committed to contributing to the overall wellbeing and confidence of his patients by promoting both oral health and a positive self-image. He strives to provide his patients with a fun and comfortable experience through the use of the latest orthodontic technologies.
Dr. Alex has three daughters and his wife, Emily, is a pediatric dentist in Medina, Ohio. When not in the office, he enjoys CrossFit, traveling and spending time with his family.
